Do I need a fishing license?
No.  The  boat has a commercial license that covers all passengers on the boat, therefore you do not need to have an individual fishing license.

What do I need to bring?
Bring something to eat and drink.  Sandwiches and soft drinks are the easiest.  You can also bring beer, but no liquor is allowed.  Bring  sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.  You might also want to think about bringing a jacket.  Finally, don't forget to bring your camera.  We will take pictures of your catch back on the docks but we normally don't have time to take pictures while we are fishing.

How far offshore does the boat go on a fishing trip?
On a full day gulf stream trip, the boat will generally go about 40 - 60 miles offshore, depending where the gulf stream is that day.

How far offshore  is the gulf stream?
The gulf stream varies greatly.  At times the stream may be 40 miles offshore while at other times it may be 60 miles.

How far is the continental shelf?
The continental shelf is approximately 40 miles offshore.

How many years experience does the Captain have?
Captain Bobby Garmany has over twenty five years of experience fishing the waters off  Charleston so he knows these waters well.  Just check out the Mates Notes to see what we have been catching.

What time do I need to be at the boat?
For a full day charter, you need to be at the boat no later than 4:45AM.

How much does it cost?
For a full day, gulf stream trip the cost is $1550.
Gratuities are not included in the cost of the trips.  It is customary to tip 15%.
You can go to our Charter Rates page for more information.

How do I book a trip?
You can email us at topbilling@carolina.rr.com or you can call us at (843)813-0049.  After we select the date that you would like to fish, we will send you a confirmation letter which you will need to sign and return to us with a deposit of 50%.  We will hold that day as pending until we receive your deposit, after which we will consider that day booked.  The remaining 50% balance is due at the time of the charter trip.  We also accept Master Card and Visa.  Just call and give us your credit card number and we will hold the trip for you (we don't run the card until the time of your trip).  Or, you can hold the trip with your credit card and pay with check or cash at the time of your trip.

Can you put pictures of my trip on your site?
We would be more than happy to put pictures of your trip on our site. We will put our pictures of your catch on the site (we will take pictures back at the dock), and we will be more than happy for you to send us your pictures of the trip, especially if they are pictures taken while fighting the big one!!!

What is the cancellation policy?
Safety is our number one concern.  Our policy is to fish if at all possible, but some days the weather is too bad to safely take the boat out.  Under these circumstances, we will try to rebook the trip to another day.  If we cannot find a day that is suitable, then we will refund your deposit.  Any cancellations of charter trips due to unfishable weather conditions, small craft advisories, or threatening hurricanes are fully refundable.  Please be sure to confirm fishing trips before traveling to the fishing destination if any adverse weather conditions are threatening (i.e. tropical storms or hurricanes, etc.)
